Our Campaign Pledge:

The European Brain Council supports the EU OSHA Healthy Workplace Campaign manage stress. We believe that employment not only involves focusing on more jobs, but also on better jobs. Mental health and well-being of the workforce is a key resource for productivity and innovation in Europe as well as critical asset for companies.

Some forms of stress can lead to depression, one of the most prevalent brain disorders which according to the WHO is the leading cause of disability worldwide.

Depression is the most predominant mental health problem among working-age patients. Therefore depression in the workplace is a leading cause of lost work productivity, sick leave and early retirement. Reciprocally, chronic stress at the workplace can lead to depression that will affect not just professional but personal life of the patient.

It is a societal challenge that is causing serious damage and which requires attention and action from the EU.
